SWISS WATER REPORT 2025

At Bennetts, we’ve long championed quality and integrity in every cup – values that are mirrored in our long-standing partnership with Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee, Inc., the world leader in chemical-free decaffeination. For over 20 years, we’ve proudly served as the exclusive supplier of Swiss Water® decaffeinated coffee in Australia, connecting roasters with decaf that’s both clean in process and exceptional in taste.

Swiss Water is renowned for its proprietary 100% chemical-free process, which uses only water, time, temperature, and coffee know-how to gently remove caffeine from green coffee. The result? Decaf that retains the complexity and character of the original beans – without compromise.

Now, Swiss Water is entering a new chapter. With a bold rebrand and refreshed positioning of their product lines, they’re making it easier for roasters and consumers alike to navigate the decaf landscape – all while staying true to the science, innovation, and sustainability that have long defined their approach. In this report, we’ll explore their updated offering structure and take a closer look at our latest incoming Swiss Water® Process release – the exceptional Lohas Pink Bourbon.

Whether you’re new to decaf or looking to take your offerings to the next level, this update will give you everything you need to stay informed and inspired.

Swiss Water has recently unveiled a vibrant new brand identity – a modern refresh that reflects not only a change in visual style, but also a deeper focus on traceability, seasonality, and clarity within their decaffeinated coffee range. As the demand for high-quality, traceable decaf continues to rise, Swiss Water has responded by reorganising their offerings into clearer categories, helping roasters better understand what’s available and how it suits their needs.

We’re excited to see this evolution – especially as long-time partners and exclusive suppliers of the Swiss Water® Process in Australia – and are confident it will make exploring their range more intuitive and engaging for our customers.

Here’s a breakdown of the newly introduced categories:

Emerald Micro Lots – limited-volume, highly traceable offerings that celebrate uniqueness and showcase distinctive flavour profiles.

Verdant Reserves – traceable coffees that offer profile flexibility and price accessibility, designed for roasters seeking balance between story and scale.

Evergreens and Ferns – reliable, year-round selections that include classic single origins and blends with consistent flavour and performance.

By reimagining their range under these categories, Swiss Water is making it easier for roasters to navigate their offerings and find the right decaf – whether you're after something bold and limited or consistent and versatile.

As part of Swiss Water’s newly named Emerald Micro Lots category, we’re thrilled to introduce a truly standout offering: the Colombia Lohas Pink Bourbon, sourced through our partners at Swiss Water and Lohas Beans.

Grown in the highlands of Peñas Blancas, Huila, at 1,750 MASL, this microlot represents a bold intersection of innovation, sustainability, and sensory excellence. It has been crafted through a series of advanced processing techniques – including anaerobic fermentation, thermal shock, and stainless-steel precision drying – that amplify the variety’s innate florality and fruit-driven profile.

Processed at the Beneficio Peñas Blancas mill, a centralised hub operated by Las Flores and run by renowned producers Jhoan Vergara and Nestor Lasso, this coffee is a collaborative effort from a group of smallholder farmers who entrust their cherry to the expertise of the mill. This model departs from the typical Colombian approach of on-farm processing, instead allowing for greater control and consistency – all while championing innovation and quality.

The result? A chemical-free decaf that holds its own among the best of fully caffeinated lots. Thanks to the Swiss Water® Process, which removes 99.9% of caffeine while preserving cup integrity, this coffee delivers a delicate and refined profile: peach iced tea, florals, tropical fruits, with a silky body and a mango, lychee, and vanilla finish.

Beyond flavour, this lot also represents a commitment to sustainable farming. Producer Jhoan Vergara continues to lead with environmental responsibility, having planted over 2,000 shade trees to revitalise soil and create a more sustainable ecosystem for coffee cultivation.

This limited-release decaf is due to arrive in September, and due to sell out! If you’re interested in securing some, we recommend reaching out to your Account Manager as soon as possible to express interest.

As Swiss Water embraces this exciting new chapter, we’re proud to continue bringing their innovation, integrity, and quality to our Australian customers. The refreshed offering structure not only reflects the evolving expectations of today’s roasters and consumers but also reinforces what has always set Swiss Water apart – a dedication to crafting decaffeinated coffee without compromise.

With standout releases like the Colombia Lohas Pink Bourbon now part of our portfolio, alongside some of our more traditional offerings like the SWP Premium Espresso Blend – there’s never been a better time to explore what’s possible in the world of decaf. Whether you’re expanding your decaf range or introducing it for the first time, we’re here to help you find the right fit for your offering.
